Who is the nut jumping on the couch?

if you have not viewed this video Tom the Crazy please do. I think it is fascinating how some people can be so arrogant, so full of themselves, for no apparent reason other than people know who they are.

I have had a cold for about three weeks. It wasn't that bad at the beginning so I thought it would a pretty mild one. So felt better and went on with my life. But it did not seem to want to go away. This last weekend I did not do a thing, lied on the couch, slept and watched TV. Felt better but this week it got worse. I finally decided to stay home today. I went to the walk in clinic down the street and the physician assistant said I had a cold and it would eventually go away. I knew that, but she did confirm I am not getting pneumonia, a concern since I had if before and might be susceptible to it now. I am really getting tired of it.

Up early to call D-Link to try and change my order. My Media Center froze up and would not come on. I unplugged and restarted 5 times, nothing. How am I going to watch the 753 videos I have stored on my PC? Well, it was 7 years old, I got a lot of use out it.

So I ordered a new one and thought everything was OK, but later after reading about the model I ordered it did not have the Play feature I wanted. It has not shipped yet so I thought I would see if could change the order before it left the warehouse. I called yesterday and the recording said their business hours were 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM Pacific Standard time. So I got up the this morning at 6:00 and called and then the recording said their US office opens at 7:00. Two minutes to go to fix this debacle.

Animal House

And that my friends, is 2007 in a nutshell. Where it belongs.

I go shopping once a year, I mean shoping for gifts and what not. Not shopping for undewear, I do that online. So while I am shopping it reminds me of why I only do this kind of shopping once a year. I did get some good stuff and I think my family will apprecite my efforts, but I do have better things to do than walking around a mall. Things like working on the Phi Tau website so my good friend Chuck Yeagermeister doesn't get all CIC or CID on me.

TV trivia time

What was the name of the dragon on the Munster's that lived under the stairs? I believe it was Eddie's pet.

My friend Shakespoon and his lovely wife Kelley came down a couple of weeks ago. We stayed in Friday night. Started out with some good wine, Bill and Kelly were impressed with the Pezzi King Zinfandel. We also had some very good cheese, fruit and nuts. Later I cooked up some steaks and Mrs. Palmer added some baked potatoes and salad. During dinner we called Chuck Yeagermeister and tried to get him to come to the brewfest we were going to the next day. He said he would try, but he was busy.

The next day we attended a brewfest in the downtown park. We met our friends Scott and Lisa and proceeded to drink some good beer and listen to some bad music. It should be a law that the only music that can be played at brewfests is surf music. Later we went down to the Sheraton and had a drink before heading to dinner.

All in all a great day and a great weekend.

Mrs. Palmer quit her job at Visionary Integration Professionals and accepted a job with our good friend Rafael. He has a small company but has 38 people on his payroll, and is growing fast. She started work with Raf last Monday. She gets to work at home. Her staff, Tom and Jerry, are not working out so good. They tend to be very attentive until about 10:00 o'clock and then they fall asleep in the sun.

It must be nice to get up, get a cup of coffee, walk 20 feet to work in your pajamas.

We have added two new staff members, Tom and Jerry. The two kitties were hired around August 1st. I would post their pictures but the only ones we have are camera phone pictures and so they are not very good. Bill Shakespeare has my camera and so we have not taken pics yet. Sort of bummed because they seem to be kittens for about a week. They still act like kittens and eat Kitty good but they are big.

Shakespoon and his lovely wife Kelly are coming down tomorrow and so I should be getting my camera.

Have not blogged in awhile, I guess you can tell. Working, developing the Phi Tau alumni site kept me busy. Then I got a new job and moved. Still unpacking.

One of the staff has left. Suzie is now at the sushi bar in the sky. She lived 17 long and pampered years.

In memoriam.

Grab a brew, don't cost nothing

And my Dad never thought renting Animal House twenty nine times in two months was a good thing, boy did I prove him wrong. Well, I don't know that I proved him wrong, but I did manage to set up my fraternity's website. Along the way I had to re-learn html and learn PHP to get the site up and that was not easy. But my eteranl motivation was always the man who crystalized my objectives in higher education.
